About Me

Hi! My name is Calvin, and I'm a software engineer based in Scottsdale, Arizona, currently working at PayPal.

I graduated from Brown University in May 2025 with a Sc.B. in Computer Science-Economics, an A.B. in Applied Mathematics, and an A.B. in Portuguese and Brazilian Studies (with Honors).

My interests span distributed systems, database management systems, and data analysis. In the past, I've done work with web development, mobile development, natural language processing, computer vision, and shell scripting.

  • Helped develop a language-agnostic command that interposes on a component's execution to automatically capture and control its file system effects with Linux namespaces and OverlayFS
  • Created a pipeline that digitizes ancient Egyptian pyramid texts using image segmentation (SAM 2), classification (GPT-4), and indexing to create a searchable digital corpus for Egyptologists
